Does the application replace a sailing school course?
No. NauticSMART is a study and training tool that prepares you for theoretical exams and refines your reflexes before embarking. Recognized certifications always require practical hours and on-water exercises. No app can ever replace this essential training.

Can I use the application without an Internet connection?
Yes. Download in advance the modules, videos and quizzes for your course so that all content remains accessible even during a full cruise. As soon as you reconnect to the network, your results synchronize automatically with your profile. Only real-time weather functions and community chat require an active connection.
What if I'm a complete beginner?
No worries! The introduction and initiation courses are available free of charge. You also have access to basic vocabulary, essential knots and safety rules. You progress at your own pace and the algorithm moves forward the concepts that need a little refresher.
What if I have an experienced skipper's certificate?
The advanced modules unlock offshore sailing scenarios, optimized passage plans and timed quizzes that test your expertise. You can run the “Skills Assessment” to skip the basics and focus the app on content that pushes your limits. The digital coach then activates a “challenge mode” with enhanced weather checklists, night watch and crew management to further enrich your role as skipper.
